Halcones Rojos Veracruz is a Mexican professional basketball team based in Veracruz. After two successful seasons on the basketball team Halcones UV Xalapa, and seeing how the fans to the sport was growing in the state of Veracruz, it was decided to acquire a franchise for the city of Veracruz had a basketball team and so continue promoting the sport in Veracruz territory. On 1 May 2005 the official announcement was made, the birth of the Falcons Campus Veracruz Universidad Veracruzana (UV Hawks Veracruz). With this, the state of Veracruz and has two teams (both representing the UV) LNBP participating in the league of the country's largest basketball.

Auditorio Benito Juarez is a 4,000-seat indoor arena located in Veracruz, Veracruz, Mexico. It was built in 1972 and renovated in 2004. It is the home of the Halcones Rojos de Veracruz basketball team, and one of two LNBP arenas named in honor of Benito JuĂĄrez. (The other is Poliforum Benito Juarez in CancĂșn.) When used for concerts and other special events, the Auditorio can hold up to 4,500. The play Aventurera has been presented here several times. Additionally, AnahĂ­, AngĂ©lica MarĂ­a, Lupita D'Alessio, RocĂ­o DĂșrcal, Alicia Villarreal, Alejandro FernĂĄndez, Joan Sebastian, Alejandra GuzmĂĄn, Triple, Wisin & Yandel, ManĂĄ, Luis Miguel, Gloria Trevi, Pepe Aguilar and ZoĂ© are among the many acts who have performed at this arena. Boxing and Lucha libre matches have been held here. It has hosted circuses, trade shows and other special events. Auditorio Benito Juarez is considered to be one of the LNBP's best arenas. There are plans for a new 10,000-seat arena in Veracruz, which could send most major concerts to the new facility.
