The GRX Taneco team expanded to two cars and acquired Hyundai machinery for its assault on the 2018 FIA World Rallycross Championship with Niclas Gronholm and Timur Timerzyanov. Stunning performances in from Gronholm put the team regularly in the Finals but the podium never quite materialised. In 2019, the team retained the pair of Gronholm and Timerzyanov, adding 2018 Euro RX Supercar Champion Reinis Nitiss at selected rounds. Headed up by two-time World Rally Champion Marcus Gronholm, the cars have been adapted from Hyundai’s successful WRC platform, a tactic used to good effect by Volkswagen in recent years. For 2020 Gronholm and Timerzyanov are back as full-time World RX entrants.
